A tragic accident has claimed the lives of two individuals whose bodies were discovered on Friday morning, February 21, along the Tono Riverbank in the Kasena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region.
According to eyewitness reports, the victims, both residents of Chaina in the Kasena-Nankana West District, were traveling on a motorbike from Navrongo to Chaina on Thursday night, February 20, when they lost control and veered into the Tono Dam.

These farmers had arrived at the riverbank to tend to their crops when they noticed something unusual near the dam’s edge. Upon closer inspection, they found the two victims motionless and immediately raised an alarm.
Residents, shocked by the grim sight, swiftly alerted local authorities, leading to the Kasena-Nankana police being called to the scene.
Law enforcement officers arrived shortly afterward to retrieve the bodies, which were then transported to the Navrongo Hospital for further examination.
