President John Dramani Mahama has made several key appointments to strengthen regional governance and ensure effective leadership in various national ministries.
Among the new appointees is the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu who has been named the Minister for Education.
The other Ministers of State include the following;
1. Kwame Governs Agbodza – Ministry of Roads and Highways
2. Eric Opoku – Ministry of Food and Agriculture
3. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey – Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection
4. Abla Dzifa Gomashie – Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts
5. Emelia Arthur – Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture
6. George Opare-Addo – Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment
7. Haruna Iddrisu – Ministry of Education
8. Ahmed Ibrahim – Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs
9. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, – Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry
Also, below is the list of Regional Ministers.
1. Wilbert Petty Brentum – Western North Region
2. Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere – Central Region
3. Joseph Nelson – Western Region
These ministers will be tasked with coordinating development initiatives and ensuring effective governance in their respective regions.
The nominees will have to undergo vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
